  • Lady Lions Tennis Ends Fall Season at Collin College

    GAINESVILLE, TX --- On Friday, October 11th, the Lady Lions Tennis and Coach Brian Waddell headed to Plano, TX for their last Fall Season tournament, as the 2019 Fall Cougar Women’s Open was taking place at Collin College. The tournament consisted of three Singles and three Doubles Draws, playing at both Allen High School and Collin College tennis complexes.
  • Lady Lions Tennis Open Fall 2019 Season

    GAINESVILLE, TX --- On Thursday, September 5th, the Lady Lions and coach Brian Waddell headed to Winfield, KS to open the Fall Season at the "2019 Tiger Jinx Invitational," tournament hosted by Southwestern College and Cowley College that brought together 115 female athletes from 13 schools. The tournament began Friday morning in the hard courts of Southwestern College, starting with the Flight C matches, where the NCTC Tennis Team had 5 of its 7 players. First on was Natalia Martinez (Freshman) who lost in straight sets against the seed #1, Mirella Calvalcanti from Newman, with a score of 4-6 1-6. Second on was Mariangela Mendoza (Sophomore) who, in a tight match against Kendra Maples from McPherson, lost in the match tiebreaker by 5-7 6-3 9-11. Then, Alexandra Beyer (Freshman) after going down 1-6 against Maddie Thrasher from Sterling, won the second set by 6-1 and finally lost by 7-10 in the match tiebreaker. Fourth on was Annabella Natalini (Freshman) who beat Emily Burk from Southwestern in straight sets, losing only four games (6-2 6-2). The last Lady Lion to take action on Flight C was Yanniek Voogel (Freshman), seed #2, who sealed his pass to the next round after defeating Jennifer Harrison from Bethel by 6-3 6-4. On Flight A, Annunciata De-Souza (Freshman) lost to Vladislava Litvinova from Newman by an unusual score of 0-6 6-0 5-10. Finally, Birthe Nulens (Sophomore), who was part of Flight B, lost to Andrea Sanchez from Oklahoma Baptist by a score of 3-6 2-6.
