
The volleyball team traveled to New Mexico Military Institute to compete in the regional tournament on November 7th-9th.
In round one of the tournament, NCTC faced NJCAA nationally ranked #3 New Mexico Military Institute, the number one seed in the tournament. Falling to NMMI, the lady lions fought hard, keeping a point for point pace throughout the match. Standout freshman pin hitter Emarei Brandon led the team offensively with 7 kills and a .462 hitting percentage, followed by sophomore Nikaia Lydia, who also added 7 kills. The freshmen middles duo of Joy-Lece Bateman and Kassidy Paul each recorded 5 kills as well.
In round two, the team matched up with Vernon College to finish up the tournament. Lydia earned 9 kills with a .368 hitting percentage, along with Brandon and Paul who each put up 7 more kills. Setter Martyna Lewinska added 22 assists and 13 digs on the match, along with libero Kendall Toliver who recorded 7 digs.
The lady lions finish the season with 12 wins, a top four conference finish, and as regional tournament qualifiers. Congratulations on another great season of NCTC volleyball!
