Lady Lions Qualify for Regionals

The NCTC volleyball team finished conference play in the top 4, earning their spot at the regional tournament in Roswell, New Mexico on November 7th-9th.

The team took a big match 3-1 against Temple College on sophomore night to secure a spot in the tournament. Leading the way offensively were a pair of freshman, Emily Metzler and Emarei Brandon who each put up 16 kills on the match, followed by Kassidy Paul who earned 10. Kendall Toliver added 20 digs to her count, along with Martyna Lewinska who put up 47 assists and 7 digs.

On the road at Ranger College, the lions dropped a competitive match. Highlight players for the game were Joy-Lece Bateman, who recorded a .367 hitting % with 5 kills and 2 blocks, along with Toliver, who again had a strong defensive match with 17 digs.

Sitting as a number 4 seed, the lions will compete in the first round at regionals against #3 nationally ranked New Mexico Military Institute, the tournament hosts, in a double elimination setup. The top two finishers at regionals will receive bids to nationals, taking place in Clarksville, Tennessee on November 20th-23rd.
