Lady Lions Earn NTJCAC Titles

Four lady lions earned NTJCAC titles, starting with the Player of the Year, sophomore Shae Pruiett. Pruiett had quite the season, achieving highs of 529 digs, 343 assists, 105 kills, and 68 aces. 

Along with Pruiett, standout sophomore Christallynn Tate earned the Defensive Player of the Year title, reaching stats of 119 total blocks this season, as well as 338 kills, 114 digs, and 17 aces. Both Tate and Pruiett finished as 1st-Team All Conference and All-Region players.

The freshmen duo, Nikaia Lydia and Kendall Toliver, earned 2nd Team All-Conference awards this season. Lydia added 198 kills, 160 digs, and 25 blocks to her count this season, along with Toliver's 343 assists, 368 digs, 154 kills, and 31 blocks.

The lady lions finished the season with a winning record of 21-15 and an appearance at the Region V Tournament at Weatherford College. At the tournament, the lady lions dropped a match to nationally ranked Odessa College on day 1. On day 2, the lady lions won a 3-set match against Vernon College, and then continued to play in the quarterfinals against nationally ranked New Mexico Junior College to finish out a competitive volleyball season.
