Lions Compete at Trinity University Invitational

On March 2nd and 3rd the lion track teams took on the Trinity University Invitational meet, with one athlete bringing home some hardware. Freshmen standout Kyla Metzler took 1st place in the women's long jump over Division II and Division III programs. Her jump of 5.73 meters won her the gold for the event. Metzler also added a 6th place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:09.57.

Sophomore and previous NJCAA All-American Ashlen Clem earned a top 5 finish in the 800 meter run, leading the way for the lady lions with a time of 2:19.12, along with freshman Glorie Kabuin also finishing in the top 9 at 2:24.42.

For the men, Scott Davis led the lions in the Steeplechase with a 4th place finish and a time of 10:04.06. Brian Kiplangat also competed for a top 10 finish in the 1500m run with a time of 4:08.85.

"We had a good meet, got a lot of work done, and we still hope to grow and accomplish even more," say Coach Lonnie.

Next up for the lions is the UTA invitational meet on March 7th and 8th.
