Golf Swings Into Spring Season

Golf Swings Into Spring Season

A new season begins for the men's and women's golf team at North Central Texas College, after an exciting fall. This spring is the first official season for men's golf, in which the lions look to make their mark in NJCAA golf.

The lions took a trip to Western New Mexico University to compete at Cactus Thaw-Painted Dunes Desert Course February 11th through 13th.

Women's golf took a fourth-place team finish with standout sophomores, Amaya and Natasha Johnson leading the way. The Johnson twin duo each finished with an overall score of 171, followed by Maddie Knodle who shot 173.

JJ Walsh took charge for the men's team with 152. Walsh posted 82 on day one, but came back strong on day two with a score of 70. Kenneth Melendrez and Kaige Daughrity came next with respective scores of 153 and 158.

Next up for the lion golf teams is another trip west to Tank Logix March 11th-13th.
