The NCTC softball team won the three game series over Colby Community College at home on February 17th. This series win increased the lady lions record to 14-4, a strong start for the season.

In game one, the lady lions dominated the lady trojans with a 7-0 win. Kate Krebs pitched 5 innings for the lady lions, giving up only two hits, along with Whitley McClure, who closed out the win. Offensively, Kylie Malone and Emma Dalberg earned 2 RBI each, with Malone hitting a double. Abagayle Baglin and Nayani Brown each contributed another RBI to drive up the score.

Game two ended with another lady lion triumph, 6-1, with Kacey White pitching all 7 innings to hold off the lady trojans, and adding 2 RBI on the game. Again, Malone racks up her RBI count with another, hitting a triple, followed by Montana Moore, Mickyna Lindsey, and Emma Dalberg who each added another RBI as well.

Abriana Coy led the way pitching in game three, facing 18 batters giving up only 1 run in 4 innings, followed by Kacey White, who closed out the game. Mickyna Lindsey earned 3 RBI for the team, with a big home run. Payton Blanco added 2 RBI, along with Kylie Malone and Faith Ario-Rameriz who each added an additional RBI. The lady lions finished the series strong with a 10-3 win in game three.

The team looks ahead to a big weekend of double headers, taking on Northeast Community College at home on Saturday, February 22nd, and then again the lions play at home on the 23rd against Hutchinson Community College. Both games will begin at noon, with a second matchup to follow immediately after.
