Lady Lions Slide Through First Conference Games

The lady lions are on a roll through their first conference games, securing a 4-win sweep over Ranger College on February 28th and March 2nd. For the double header at home, the lady lions won 8-0 and 11-0 over Ranger, with standout pitcher Raylea Parsons leading the charge of game one. Kacey White and Kennedy Schroder pitched game two, to help earn a lady lion victory.

At Ranger, Parsons and Schroeder, an unstoppable pitching duo, again led the way, in combination with a strong batting team effort. Parsons hit 3 home runs with 6 RBI, along with Annie-Klein Allgood and Payton Blanco earning two homers as well. Kylie Malone and Alyssa Mendez each hit triples to advance to a 17-4 win. The lions took game two with White pitching 6 innings, along with a set of two RBI each from Kylie Malone, Alyssa Mendez, Taryn Martin, and Annie-Klein Allgood. The final score of the game was 10-2.

In the double header at home versus Hill College, the lady lions earned two more wins, 8-0 and 9-1. Standouts for the games were again, pitching efforts from Parsons in game one and White in game two. Parsons had quite a day hitting as well, with 1 RBI in game one, followed by 4 RBI with a home run in game two. Payton Blanco and Kylie Malone both contributed an RBI with a double, along with Annie-Klein Allgood who earned herself another home run for the season.

Next up for the lady lions is a double header against Hill College on Saturday, March 9th and then McLennan Community College on March 13th and 16th where the team looks to improve their current record of 25-3.
