Softball Starts Strong With 13 Win Streak

The lady lion softball team is on a roll with 13 wins and only 1 loss this Spring. After some quick wins at the home opener, the lady lions continued their win streak taking games over Clarendon College, Northeast Texas Community College, and Seward County College. The matchup with Paris Junior College was postponed due to weather conditions.

Against Northeast Texas Community College on February 14th, standout hitter Lauren Moon contributed 5 RBI, with 2 home runs, in combination with Kacey White and Annie-Klein Allgood who each added 3 RBI. NCTC took the first game 11-3. For the second game, Alyssa Mendez added 3 RBI to add to her count. Kylie Malone, Taryn Martin, and Mickyna Lindsey each hit an RBI to help the team earn another 7-4 win over NTCC.

On February 15th, NCTC played a double header against a competitive Seward County Community College. Both were close scoring but ended in lady lion triumphs with scores of 11-10 and 3-2. Raylea Parsons showed out for game one with 5 RBI's and 2 home runs to help clinch the win, along with a strong pitching duo of Kennedy Schroeder and Annie-Klein Allgood. The lady lions took game two with the help of Kylie Malone's 2 RBI and home run, along with another RBI from Mickyna Lindsey and an Annie-Klein Allgood double.

In the double header at Hutchinson Community College, the team took game one with a clean 5-0 finish, and then dropped game two 3-5. The lady lions look to bounce back in their games versus Paris Junior College on February 19th at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
