The men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Texas Wesleyan Invitational Meet on February 17th. Ashlen Clem, Brian Kiplangat, Ryan Kennedy, and Kyla Metzler delivered top performances for the lions across multiple events. Clem finished strong in the 1000m race with a 3:02.77 time, while Metzler dominated the long jump with a 5.74m mark. In the men's 1000m competition, Kiplangat ran a time of 2:40.41, shortly followed by Kennedy who crossed the finish line at 2:42.12. 

"It was a cold, but solid opener for us, and an overall great day to race," Coach Lonergan states.

Next up, the lions will take a mid-distance group to the Trinity Invitational Meet in San Antonio on March 1st and 2nd.
