Track and Field Brings Home Two All-Americans

NCTC's men's and women's track teams fared well at the NJCAA national track meet May 18-21 in Hobbs, New Mexico.

On the men's side, Davi Torres earned 1st Team All-American honors placing 5th in the high jump. He also competed in the 400 hurdles event. After a successful season, Torres will now continue his track and field career at Tarleton State University in the Fall.

Douglash Kiprotich closed out a stellar career at NCTC with a 14th place finish in the 1500 meter run.

Ashlen Clem led the lady lions with a 1st Team All-American 7th place finish in the 800 meter event. Clem teamed with her sister Katlyn Clem, Ali Gutierrez, and Anjelika Abraham to place 9th in the 4x800 relay.

"It was a terrific national meet for us. Everyone moved up considerably from where they were ranked, and to come away with 2 All-Americans is phenomenal. It was a great finish to the most productive year of cross country and track and field in program history," Coach Lonergan noted.
