
The Lions faced tough competition in doubleheader matchups with Cisco College on April 2nd and 6th, and Grayson College on April 9th and 12th.
April 2nd at Cisco College
The lions dropped the doubleheader event, 4-9 and 7-8. Drew Thompson, Colson Wood, and Cole Rager led the way offensively in game one, with an RBI each. The team gained momentum for game two, playing consistent through the first 7 innings. The wrangler played a strong offensive 8th inning bringing in 4 runs, but the lions answered back bringing in 5 runs in the 9th to push for an extra inning, but dropping a tight, competitive game. Aaron Montanez pitched a strong 6 innings for the lions, with Jace Patton and Charles Shadowens finishing the game on the mound. Kevin Diaz and Colson Wood led the way batting with 2 RBI each.
April 6th vs Cisco College
In game one, the lions came out strong with 8 runs in the first four innings, winning the game 8-5. The combination of Greyden Hazard and Drew Thompson commanded the mound to shut down the wranglers. Dylan Robinson and Caleb Cowan both added big home runs, with Robinson earning 3 RBI. Austin Myers also contributed 2 RBI for the lions.
April 9th and 12th vs Grayson College
Against a tough Grayson College team, the lions dropped game one and two 0-10 and 5-28 when battling on the road. In the matchups at home, Grayson took game one 8-1 and two 4-3.
