February Baseball Recap

The lion baseball team split a double header with Galveston College on February 7th, dropping a close first game 7-9. Adrian Guerrero and Jack Hamilton each contributed 3 RBI, with Hamilton adding a double. The pitching duo or Dakota McCaskill and Landon Campbell also helped to hold off the whitecaps. The lions took game two with Jack Davis hitting a home run to rally the team, with 2 RBI. Cole Rager also added a double earning two more RBI for the lions. Trevor Hunter and Miguel Amason led the way pitching for the lions to finish the game with a 4-2 win.

Next, the lions played at Murray State  College on February 9th, taking the 4-3 victory with standout hitter, Adrian Guerrero earning two more RBI. Daniel Swirsky charged the team ahead with a home run adding another RBI to the count. Pitchers Drew Thompson and Aaron Monanez also played a great game to contribute to the team win.

The lions dropped a few games to competitive Connors State College and New Mexico Junior College on February 14th and 15th. At home, the lions played Des Moines Area Community College and Kansas City Community College on the 16th and 18th, and they now look ahead to bounce back against Midland College. The lions travel to Abilene, TX to play MC at the John J. Hunter Field on February 27th.
