The lady lions golf team started up the season with the first golf tournament in program history at the Waco River Classic. McLennan College hosted the tournament at Cottonwood Creek Golf Club on September 19th and 20th. NCTC entered three lady lions as medalists, which includes the sister duo, Amaya Johnson and Natasha Johnson, along with Kylee Rutledge.

Amaya shot 85-85 for a two day total of 170 and Natasha shot 93-90 for a total of 183. Kylee shot 86-81 to lead the team with a 167 tournament total. 

"It was a great start. I am very proud of the girls for the way they competed and how they represented NCTC," Coach Langley says about the history-making tournament.

The lady lions next tournament will be at Wayland Baptist in October.
