Hamsher, Grewing named to All-Tournament Team

Allie Hamsher, the freshman from Forney sprinkled her name across the stat charts through every match this weekend and last night, vs nationally ranked Tyler Junior College. The freshman totalled for 67 of the team's total points in the last 6 matches. and had a Triple-Double performance in 2 of those Victories. She had 12 and 16 Kills vs. Brookhaven and Wharton County, 24 and 31 assists, and 15 and 12 digs respectively. 

Jocelyn Grewing, the freshman from our own backyard, Lindsay, TX, scored 75 points for the team over the past 6 matches, and threw in a double double in the 5 set win over Wharton County with 12 Kills and 12 Digs. 

 

The team is showcasing a team of freshman starters, with Haley Vaughn also setting for the group, Meredith McPeek and Crislyn Autry swinging at the pins, Jordan Babcock in the middle, and Mia Cooke anchoring the defense in the libero position. The Lions have one sophomore starting in the line up, Veronika Webb a transfer from TWU. The group is starting to hit their stride as they get in rythm with one another in a new system. 

They return to action this Thursday night and open Conference play at home vs Cisco College.
