Softball Finishes Conference Play With Two Wins At Home

To finish up the spring season, the softball team earned two more conference wins against Grayson College on April 27th. After falling to the vikings on the Thursday, April 25th, the lady lions came back to even the score, winning the double header on Saturday. 

Leading the way in game one was Kylie Malone, who hit a homer adding 3 RBI to her impressive stats this season. Taryn Martin also contributed a double for the team. Kennedy Schroeder held the Vikings off, pitching 6 innings for the lady lions, with Kacey White finishing the game, a 5-4 win. 

Game two was a nail biter, as the vikings led 5-3 until a huge 7th inning for the lady lions. Standout hitter Payton Blanco earned an RBI with a triple, along with Megan Baldwin earning two more RBI for NCTC. The pitching duo of Annie-Klein Allgood and Kacey White were a huge factor to the team's success, as the lady lions won another close game 6-5.

The team now sits tied for fourth in the conference standings, qualifying the team for the Regional Softball Tournament May 2nd - 5th!
