The North Central Texas College Lady Lions won two games over Paris Junior College (PJC) on Wednesday, in the home opener for the Lady Lions. As is tradition, NCTC Head Coach Van Hedrick had his daughters on campus to throw out the first pitch. One thing was different this year, his oldest daughter, Ashley Hedrick, is now a freshman at NCTC and a pitcher for the Lady Lions. Hedrick's two youngest daughters, Allison and Autumn, threw out the ceremonial first pitch, while Ashley took the mound to open the game pitching for NCTC.

The Lady Lions pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth, Hillaree Schwartz doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run and an error scored one run for NCTC Lady Lions 2018.
