Lion Baseball Finishes 3-1 in Weekend Series

Game 1 

Pitching By Zeke Shuts Out Midland College, North Central Texas Lions Takes The Win

Zeke Wood shut down Midland College, throwing a complete game shutout and leading North Central Texas Lions to a 5-0 victory on Wednesday

North Central Texas Lions got on the board in the first inning. Nixon Brannan grounded out, scoring one run.

North Central Texas Lions scored three runs in the fifth inning. Rance Rosas and Josh Blankenship each had RBIs in the frame.

One bright spot for Midland College was a single by Huerta in the second inning.

Wood took the win for North Central Texas Lions. He allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out nine.

Goldiron took the loss for Midland College. He surrendered five runs on four hits over four and a third innings, striking out four.

Rosas led North Central Texas Lions with two hits in four at bats. Sam Haigwood led North Central Texas Lions with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.

 

Game 2 

North Central Texas Lions Defeats Midland College After Tense Back-And-Forth Affair

North Central Texas Lions and Midland College played an action-packed back-and-forth game that saw North Central Texas Lions coming away with a 13-8 victory. The game was tied at eight with North Central Texas Lions batting in the bottom of the sixth when Sam Haigwood lined out, driving in a run.

Colby Seltzer led North Central Texas Lions to victory by driving in four runs. He went 3-for-5 at the plate. Seltzer drove in runs on a home run in the first, a walk in the second, and a double in the seventh.

Midland College opened up scoring in the first inning. Midland College scored one run when Gibson doubled.

After Midland College scored two runs in the top of the fourth, North Central Texas Lions answered with two of their own. Midland College scored when Baumhartner doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. North Central Texas Lions then answered when Rance Rosas singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

North Central Texas Lions took the lead for good with one run in the sixth inning.

North Central Texas Lions put up four runs in the seventh inning. The rally was led by a walk by Haigwood, a single by Nixon Brannan, an error on a ball put in play by Anderson Acinger, and a double by Seltzer.

Midland College scored four runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by Midland College was led by Baumhartner, Payton, and Juaz, all driving in runs in the frame.

Dave Johnson was the winning pitcher for North Central Texas Lions. He lasted two innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out four and walking one. Quincy Cooper, Sam Clark, and Dawson Beard all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Klosowaski took the loss for Midland College. He went two and a third innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out four.

Lincavage started the game for Midland College. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out two Jordan Powell started the game for North Central Texas Lions. He went three innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out three

North Central Texas Lions hit one home run on the day. Seltzer went deep in the first inning.

North Central Texas Lions had 16 hits in the game. Brannan, Seltzer, Josh Blankenship, Will Sebera, Rosas, and Haigwood each managed multiple hits for North Central Texas Lions. Seltzer and Brannan all had three hits to lead North Central Texas Lions. North Central Texas Lions didn't commit a single error in the field. Brannan had the most chances in the field with 12.

Midland College racked up 11 hits in the game. Hunt, Gibson, Acosta, and Baumhartner all managed multiple hits for Midland College.

 

Game 3 

Walk-Off Seals Win For Murray St. College Against North Central Texas Lions

It came down to the last play, but North Central Texas Lions was on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat to Murray St. College on Friday. The game was tied at two with Murray St. College batting in the bottom of the seventh when Trevino singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Murray St. College pitchers struck out seven, while North Central Texas Lions sat down nine.

In the top of the sixth inning, North Central Texas Lions tied things up at two. Colby Seltzer's sac fly scored one run for North Central Texas Lions.

Corley got the win for Murray St. College. He lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out seven.

Sam Clark took the loss for North Central Texas Lions. He allowed one hit and one run walking zero.

Rhett Kouba started the game for North Central Texas Lions. He lasted six innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out nine

Rance Rosas went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead North Central Texas Lions in hits.

 

Game 4 

North Central Texas Lions Claims Victory Over Murray St. College In Blow-Out Fashion, 10-1

North Central Texas Lions blew out Murray St. College 10-1 on Friday.

North Central Texas Lions opened up scoring in the first inning. North Central Texas Lions scored two runs when Kaddin Mikulik homered.

Jarod Seals pitched North Central Texas Lions to victory. He allowed five hits and one run over six innings, striking out ten. Morris Austin threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

David took the loss for Murray St. College. He lasted three innings, allowing eight hits and eight runs while striking out three.

North Central Texas Lions launched two home runs on the day. Mikulik went for the long ball in the first inning. Rance Rosas had a dinger in the first inning.

North Central Texas Lions had 13 hits in the game. Rosas, Anderson Acinger, Josh Blankenship, Mikulik, and Clay Stevens all collected multiple hits for North Central Texas Lions. Rosas led North Central Texas Lions with three hits in four at bats. North Central Texas Lions was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Zane Bandfield had the most chances in the field with 13.
