North Central Texas College Grabs Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat Weatherford College

North Central Texas College took the lead late in the game in a 9-6 victory over Weatherford College on Saturday. The game was tied at five with North Central Texas College batting in the top of the eighth when Tanner Goodwin singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Bats blistered as North Central Texas College collected 12 hits and Weatherford College tallied eight in the high-scoring game.

North Central Texas College Defeats Weatherford College Despite Allowing 3-Run Inning

Weatherford College scored three runs in the second inning, but North Central Texas College still won 12-4 on Saturday. Weatherford College scored its runs on a home run by Johnson.

North Central Texas College got on the board in the second inning. Conner Gage singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

North Central Texas College notched five runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to walks by Tyler Torres and Tanner Goodwin and a single by Clay Stevens.

Rhett Kouba was credited with the victory for North Central Texas College. He surrendered four runs on four hits over six innings, striking out nine. Justin Lundquist-Irvin threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Sundren took the loss for Weatherford College. He surrendered eight runs on six hits over two and a third innings, walking one.

North Central Texas College racked up ten hits in the game. Tyrese Clayborne and Gage each collected multiple hits for North Central Texas College. Gage and Clayborne each collected two hits to lead North Central Texas College.
