Lions Baseball Win Both Games in Ranger Conference Double Header

Game 1 

North Central Texas College Defeats Ranger Junior College In Pitcher's Duel

Both teams were strong on the mound Wednesday, but North Central Texas College defeated Ranger Junior College 2-1. Zeke Wood allowed just two hits to Ranger Junior College.

North Central Texas College got on the board in the second inning when Nick Tamez's sac fly scored one run for North Central Texas College.

Wood led the North Central Texas College to victory on the hill. He went seven innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out six.

Jose Suero took the loss for Ranger Junior College. He surrendered two runs on five hits over six innings, striking out seven.

North Central Texas College tallied one home run on the day. Kemuel Thomas-Rivera had a long ball in the third inning.

Thomas-Rivera, Kaddin Mikulik, Spencer Bloom, Clay Stevens, and Josh Blankenship each managed one hit to lead North Central Texas College. North Central Texas College didn't commit a single error in the field. Bloom had the most chances in the field with 11.

 

Game 2 

Gage's Walk-Off Gives North Central Texas College Victory Over Ranger Junior College

North Central Texas College took Wednesday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 3-2 walk-off victory over Ranger Junior College. The game was tied at two with North Central Texas College batting in the bottom of the twelfth when an error scored one run for North Central Texas College.

The pitching was strong on both sides. North Central Texas College pitchers struck out 14, while Ranger Junior College pitchers sat down four.

In the top of the seventh inning, Ranger Junior College tied things up at two when Victor Bueno singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Conner Gage earned the win for North Central Texas College. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out two and walking one. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Morris Austin, Brendan Martin, Quincy Cooper, and Chase Glover all securing outs and ultimately the victory.

#13 took the loss for Ranger Junior College. He allowed zero hits and zero runs walking zero.

Chris Reynolds started the game for Ranger Junior College. He lasted five and a third innings, allowing six hits and two runs Spencer Sawin started the game for North Central Texas College. He lasted six innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out five

North Central Texas College totaled 11 hits. Tanner Goodwin, Josh Blankenship, Spencer Bloom, and Kemuel Thomas-Rivera all managed multiple hits for North Central Texas College. Goodwin went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead North Central Texas College in hits. North Central Texas College stole eight bases during the game as three players stole more than one.
