Lions Baseball Splits with Eastfield in Weekend Opener

GAME 1 

Six runs batted in from Kemuel Thomas-Rivera helped lead 2019 NCTC Lions Baseball Lions Varsity past Eastfield College 17-7 on Saturday. Thomas-Rivera drove in runs on a home run in the fourth and a home run in the fifth.

Eastfield College scored four runs in the seventh inning, but 2019 NCTC Lions Baseball Lions Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. The offensive onslaught by Eastfield College was led by #29 and #25, all driving in runs in the frame.

Eastfield College got things started in the first inning when #25 singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Justin Lundquist-Irvin was the winning pitcher for 2019 NCTC Lions Baseball Lions Varsity. He lasted one inning, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out two. Quincy Cooper and Jacob Bell entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

#18 was on the mound for Eastfield College. He lasted three innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs while striking out four and walking one. #10 and #21 entered the game as relief, throwing two and two-thirds innings and one and one-third innings respectively.
